The eArchiving Initiative was eArchiving Initiative was a procurement under the European Commission’s E-ARK programme running from October 2022 until the end of September 2025 that provided specificity and guidance for implementing conformant and interoperable Open Archival Information Systems (OAIS, ISO 14721) via core package specifications, software, a reference architecture, training and a Conformance Seal. Content Information Type Specifications (CITS) further extend this core to support data types such as relational databases, geospatial data, and record management systems in domains such as eHealth, Engineering and Cultural Heritage.
